The HaitiDocs program
HaitiDocs is the result of a partnership between the APACH Workshops (Ateliers de Productions Audiovisuelles Coopératifs de la HELB) in Belgium, the MWEM Foundation in Haiti and Docmonde. In 2018, responding to a call for projects from Wallonia Brussels International (WBI), funding was granted to launch a support program for Haitian authors and producers wishing to document the social realities of their country.
This program includes, for the years 2019 and 2020, a training of producers and writing workshops, followed by filming and editing workshops for the authors to test their film device and present a sequence of their film. At the end of this journey, the Haitian authors and their producers participate in the international co-production meetings with producers, broadcasters and support fund managers.
In 2020, program activities must adapt to the social and political situation in Haiti as well as to the context of a health emergency declared by the government until July 20.
