synopsis
Mailo is my village, I was born there in 1975. I am a Christian, my father is a Muslim. Today, I no longer recognize my village which is divided by religious tensions with, as a demarcation line, a paved road: Muslims on one side, Christians on the other. One night in 2009, I received a call from a cousin: “Bawa, get up and pray, your village may explode!” The two “camps” were going to clash. So, to encourage people to talk about living together, I returned to the village with a project: to build my house on the Muslim side.
