The Doc Pacifique programme was started in 2014 in partnership with the international documentary film festival Ânûû-rû Âboro in Poindimié, New Caledonia.
A course in the fundamentals of production and a script writing residency composed of 17 filmmakers from New Caledonia and 2 from Vanuatu was held in the lead-up to the 8th edition of the festival. During the festival the participants presented their film projects to Pacific and European producers, distributors and broadcasters.
As of June 2020, 10 films had been made.
In 2015, as a continuation of the festival, a three-day master class entitled “Documentary cinema - from its beginnings to today” was held for New Caledonian professionals. The master class created the occasion for discussions and debates about short films and various extracts shown.
