Created in 2014, in partnership with Atelier Video Multimedia in Saint-Laurent du Maroni (French Guiana), Doc Amazonie Caraïbe is a programme based on the tutorship/training of resident filmmakers and producers.
Mainly focused on the French-speaking territories, Guyana, Haiti, Martinique and Guadeloupe, the program has organized writing workshops almost every year and producer training (2016). There are already 23 completed films and 39 films currently in production.

Since 2019, in the dynamics of the International documentary film festival of Amazonia and Caribbean (FIFAC), the programme has opened up to professionals of English and Spanish speaking countries of the region, with the goal of bringing together isolated territories to strengthen professional networks and the opportunities for the films to circulate.

The Doc Amazonie Caraïbe workshops – writing residency and support for the pitch session – take place in Guyana for Guyanese, Martinican and Guadeloupean authors. The co-production meetings take place as part of FIFAC (October 9 to 12, 2024) in Saint-Laurent du Maroni.
