After your revolt, your vote

BURKINA FASO, France - 2019 - 90 MINUTES
synopsis
Following the popular uprising of October 2014, Burkina Faso, after a year of political transition, engages in a historic election. This is the first time that the country has witnessed a change of power through the ballot box, and that women are candidates for the presidential chair. “Le Balai Citoyen”, a civil society movement and a major actor in the insurgency which saw the flight of the then president, Blaise Compaoré, is playing its part as a force for mobilizing young people and a sentinel for true democracy. Three years after these elections, it is disillusionment. The long-awaited renewal is barely being born. The regrets are displayed on the faces, the protests resurface. Is democracy asserting itself or a perpetual renewal of clan governance?
